On the Death of the late Princess Amelia, youngest Daughter of his present Majesty

A ngels that hover’d round her dying couch,
M ourn’d her sad fate, and watch’d stern death’s approach!
E ’en death himself awhile withheld the blow,
L et drop his dart, and knew not what to do;
I n pity when he view’d the stroke he gave,
A nd laid Amelia in the silent grave!
